Job description – Quality Control Project Manager

This position will function as the main point of contact for assigned QC testing. The Quality Control (QC) Project Manager will lead activities related to client statement of work (SOW) for each assay. The QC Project Manager will drive execution in accordance with the SOW as well as regularly identifying changes in daily QC Operations. This position will provide structured planning to enable positive operational efficiency, strategic growth, communication and technical outcomes. Interactions will be extensive within the company and extend to external clients and collaboration partners. Maintaining a conscientious team work approach to achieve QC and company objectives is critical.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with QC leadership to develop takt-time to ensure proper billing of QC activities
  • Influence and motivate the teams to consistently meet deadlines set forth on the daily operational scheduling board
  • Prepare agendas, meeting minutes, reports, analyses, and presentations to accurately reflect the status of projects and adherence to QC schedule.
  • Schedules QC assays and tasks based on the standard lead times and quality agreements with clients
  • Create a team working environment and help Quality Control Directors with ongoing activities on a regular basis to ensure adherence to predefined timelines.
  • Identify potential risks that can delay timelines and work with the Senior Director, Quality to determine mitigation before a negative impact is observed
  • Routinely check and confirm that potential gaps are identified and addressed with scheduling and billing of QC test activities.
  • Maintain accounting plans and forecast projections as it relates to deliverables and milestones outlined in Client SOW
  • Provide support in resolving issues and ensure alignment is in place for all QC team projects
  • Regularly evaluate long term goals (projects) and planning (day to day operations) with key stake holders

 

OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Multi-disciplinary knowledge of the biotech or cellular manufacturing industry
  • Strong capability for logical, analytical, and strategic thinking
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills required
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are must.
  • Must be able to manage multiple complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a multicultural environment.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in science, engineering
  • Minimum of 2 year’s experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience working in a GMP/ laboratory / Manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience working in a contract manufacturing/development environment preferred.
