Job description – Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance for all production and process equipment. The Maintenance Technician will function as an integral part of the maintenance team, provide technical support to team member on a variety of instrumentation and equipment, and manage all documentation relating to maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will also maintain a safe work environment for all employees, approve maintenance work orders, and create/review/approve SOPs for maintenance of new and existing equipment.
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair production equipment, process equipment and facilities equipment.
  • Responsible for the quality of product through the repair and maintenance of production and process equipment.
  • Complete scheduled and unscheduled work orders and preventative maintenance duties, while completing required documentation.
  • Develop, review, and perform preventative maintenance and repair operating procedures for required equipment
  • Provide technical support to process mechanics, utilities mechanics, and production personnel as needed.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment without direct supervision.
  • Assist in the training of plant personnel on new and/or modified equipment or procedures relating to equipment.
  • Assist with validations and revalidations, as needed.
  • Assist in the procurement of stock and repair parts.
  • Work cross functionally to ensure scheduling of PMs and repairs.
  • Comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

 

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent plus 5 years of experience as a GMP Maintenance Technician or BS in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience as a GMP Maintenance Technician.
